IG Post: Prep Your Hair Before Installing Crochet Braids
We recommend you soak the braids before installing with Apple Cider Vinegar. This removes the alkaline base that causes irritation when installed.✓ Fill a bowl with warm water and a cup of apple cider vinegar.
✓ Place the crochet braids into the bowl for 20 minutes.
✓ Remove the hair when you see a white film appear (that's the alkaline base).
✓ Remove the hair from the water and rinse your hair with plain warm water.
✓ Squeeze out the excess water and let the hair air dry, the ACV smell will evaporate once the hair is dry.
✓ Install and style hair as normal!

How to Wash Your Hair
✓ Use a spray bottle of watered down shampoo and spray your scalp with the mixture.
✓ You can lightly massage your scalp with the pads of your fingers.
✓ Optional: Cowash the crochet braids very gently. Then gently rinse out the mixture you used to clean your scalp (and the cowash in the crochet braids).
✓ Optional: Condition the crochet braids as you would condition your normal hair, then rinse out the conditioner.
✓ Condition your own cornrowed hair by spraying it with a light mixture of leave-in conditioner.
✓ Finish by lightly adding a moisturizer to your hair and the added hair and sealing with an oil.
Note: Focus your attention on your scalp and not the crochet hair.
Note: To avoid loosening your hair, wash your crochet braids once every two weeks as opposed to once a week or more frequently.
